![]() The MIKE 21 flow model simulates unsteady two-dimensional hydraulic. The details of the original MIKE FLOOD model are described in Water Technology (2009). These can, in contrast to the GIS models, not only simulate the water distribution, depth and volume. The numerical hydrodynamic models were originally produced and calibrated by Water Technology using the MIKE FLOOD modelling platform that combines the dynamic coupling of the one-dimensional MIKE 11 river model and MIKE 21 two-dimensional model system. MIKE 21/3 can be applied to diverse areas and is ideal for coastal engineering studies, such as harbours or similar structures, as well as environmental applications including dispersion, oil spill, eutrophication and modelling of living organisms.
